In July I got to spend several days at Chalice Sparx UU Family Camp in Sturgis MI. There are many reasons I look forward to this camp every year; this year the outstanding multigenerational worship and religious exploration was my favorite part.
Multigenerational religious exploration benefits everyone involved. Many times our students have been UUs their whole lives while the adults around them very likely came to UUism later in life. The rich discussions that come about are many times insightful and deep even from our youngest members. Another exceptional reason multigenerational RE works is that it helps our generations get to know each other and find common ground, they find out what is important to each other which is sometimes surprising.
This Autumn Faith Development will be unveiling a multigenerational RE program during coffee hour that we hope you will jump into with whole heartedly. More details to come in September; I hope you will be as excited as we are!
