In Later Years: Finding Meaning and Spirit in Aging
Aging is the topic of a new book by Bruce Marshall, who served as UUCF minister from 1974-1981. His book, “In Later Years, Finding Meaning and Spirit in Aging,” draws from Bruce’s work as chaplain in a large retirement community and addresses challenges and opportunities that present themselves as we grow older. The print version can be purchased through the publisher, Skinner House Books: www.skinnerhouse.org. Kindle version available through Amazon.com.
2018 Rummage Sale a Success!!
335 hours of work, fun, fellowship and community building was shared by 36 church members who volunteered to set up, run and take down the rummage sale.
The sale earned $2500 for our general budget. In addition, Wellness received several hundred dollars worth of items that they needed for their clients (they really appreciated the winter coats!). The church that we are partnering with for the Musical Mission trip to Puerto Rico took a van load of leftovers after the sale. 3 pick up trucks plus 2 van loads of leftovers were taken to Goodwill and a van load to Habitat.

Music Director Search
You may have heard that Kim, our current music director, has been busy as her music carrier grows. This has lead to her hard decision to step down from her roll her at UUCF. That means we are searching for a new music director. If you would like to be a part of this search, please reach out to Melissa Verrell at GracelessWinter@yahoo.com. Duties include listing the job, interviewing candidates, and working closely with our personnel committee throughout the hiring process.
