Happy New Year! 2017 was a year of change and I'm sure that 2018 will be no different. We will continue to be called to be the change we want to see in the world in small ways as well as the big ones.

Thank you everyone who participated in the holiday pageant 'Good King Wenceslas'. Every parent and teacher who chose to miss service to wrangle the students during rehearsal, to everyone who helped find costumes, to all who made sure that the kids were ready THANK YOU! To the students who came and did their very best, THANK YOU! To the choir who played a part with their music and voices THANK YOU! Every year I'm so grateful that we get to share creative stories with the congregation that are so meaningful.

Coming in January we will begin Bible Study with David Clement. The Bible. The most read, debated, praised, and scrutinized book in history. Let’s study it together, UU style. We will look at the book from many perspectives, including historical, literary, and various faiths. Come with your questions, opinions, and open mind. Every second and forth Sundays, 40 minutes after service, starting in January. A Bible study like you always wanted...!

January 14th What is 'The' Bible, anyways? Topics: the story of the Bible; structure, history, variety. Questions: What do I already know, or think I know, about the Bible? What do different people mean by 'Bible'? How is it organized? Bring any Bible with you (digital works too); flip through the contents.

January 28th Wearing Many Hats. Topics: Varieties of interpretation, approaches, perspective. Questions: How do I read it and make sense of it? What are ways something can be 'true'? Homework: Read Genesis 1-3.
