Faith in Action

Social Justice and Outreach Ministry at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint (UUCF) has a long history of direct giving, volunteerism in the larger community, support for oppressed and minority group rights and issue advocacy. Many see this as our “UU”nique version of evangelism and mission work guided by reason, compassion, dialogue and tolerance. Whether sparked by member, denomination effort, clergy, secular partner or church board initiative, all efforts must align with our principles and be non-partisan. Volunteer coordinator for this ministry can be reached through the office manager. To learn more visit our "Serve our Community" page.

UUCF collected 248 pairs of socks, 11 hat and glove sets, and 3 additional pairs of gloves in January in honor of Rita Short, a long-time member who died last December.  Rita loved socks of all kinds. The socks were distributed to Eisenhower School, Motherly Intercession, YWCA Safe House, and a local men’s shelter.

As a congregation, we work together as team to make things happen.  From Sunday worship services, to the beauty of our building and grounds, there are many ways we chip in.  To learn more about how to help UUCF grow and thrive visit our "Serve our Congregation" page.

Members help out in any way they can, including moving items around as needed for events and repairs.
